Brewing is all about community and coming together. Philly Homebrew Outlet is proud to join the Black is Beautiful initiative. Started by Weathered Souls Brewing, the Black is Beautiful initiative is a collaborative effort amongst the brewing community to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily.
This initiative is a perfect way for the brewing community to make a difference, raise awareness and raise a glass to change.
Brewers nationwide are making this stout beer to support equality, equity and police brutality reform. We thought that homebrewers might want a chance to join the movement as well.
Here’s how homebrewers can join the Black is Beautiful Initiative:
1. Brew a batch of Black is Beautiful Stout.
Anthony, the Philly Homebrew Outlet Wizard of Wort, adapted the recipes from Weathered Souls Brewing for Philly Homebrew Outlet customers. Customers can try either the Extract or All-Grain version of the recipe.
2. Order your Ingredients from Philly Homebrew Outlet.
When you buy the Black is Beautiful Extract or All-Grain kit from PHO, we will donate $10 per Black is Beautiful kit to the Enterprise Center. Based in West Philly, the Enterprise Center supports minority entrepreneurs and under-resourced communities through transformative economic development and community wealth-building initiatives. You can order the Extract kit here and the All-Grain Kit here.
3. Spread the Word.
Share this initiative with your social networks and homebrewing communities. Tag Philly Homebrew Outlet so we can see the good things you are brewing in your home and for our community. Weathered Souls also has lots of great resources on their website, including bottle labels for your craft creation.
Thank you for joining Philly Homebrew Outlet in making a small impact in raising awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily. We believe that together, we can make a difference.
